Pigmentation is not always the same. Freckles, sunspots, age spots, post-inflammatory pigmentation, and deeper-looking pigment patterns can resemble each other, but often require a different approach.

Therefore, we combine DermaScan AI – 3D Multi-Spectral Facial Imaging with our Triple-Wavelength Pico Laser for a more personalized and precise treatment plan.

Pico Laser has been developed for clients who want to specifically target pigment spots, a dull or uneven complexion, tattoo pigment, PMU fading, or achieve fresher and brighter skin.

Pico Laser

ChatGPT-afbeelding 9 okt 2026, 20_32_59.png

What is Pico Laser

Pico Laser is an advanced laser technology that works with extremely short energy pulses, measured in picoseconds. A picosecond is one trillionth of a second.

These ultra-short pulses create a photoacoustic effect in targeted pigment. Instead of primarily working with prolonged heat, the energy helps fragment pigment particles into smaller particles, which can then be gradually processed by the body.

Our Pico Laser features three selectable wavelengths: 532 nm, 785 nm, and 1064 nm. This allows the treatment to be better tailored to different pigment characteristics and treatment goals.

Pico Laser can be used for selected pigment spots, tattoo pigment, PMU fading, and skin brightening, depending on skin type, skin condition, and professional assessment.

How does Pico Laser technology work?

ChatGPT image 9 Oct 2026, 20_40_03.png

Pico Laser uses short, powerful laser pulses to target pigment.

The laser energy is absorbed by pigment particles in the skin or in tattoo ink. Due to the photoacoustic effect, these pigment particles are broken down into smaller fragments. The body then gradually processes these particles through natural processes.

Because different pigments react differently to laser energy, the appropriate wavelength is selected based on professional assessment. The Pico Laser offers 532 nm, 785 nm, and 1064 nm for this purpose.

In this way, the treatment can be specifically tailored to, for example, superficial pigmentation, deeper-looking pigment patterns, or selected tattoo pigment.

NoaMers Pico Laser Technology

ChatGPT image Oct 9, 2026, 20_33_34.png

Advanced technology for targeted pigment correction, tattoo fading, and brighter skin.

At For You Beauty & SPA Almere, we work with Triple-Wavelength Pico Laser technology in combination with DermaScan AI skin analysis.

The DermaScan AI analyzes the skin using various imaging techniques, including visible light, cross-polarized imaging, UV imaging, RBX brown analysis, and redness and sensitivity analysis.

This gives us more insight into pigment distribution, redness, skin sensitivity, texture, and overall skin condition before a treatment plan is created.

After the skin analysis, we combine this information with your skin type, pigment color, pigment distribution, sensitivity, sun exposure, previous treatments, and personal goals. Next, we determine whether Pico Laser is suitable, which zones will be treated, and which settings are most appropriate.

Each treatment is personally tailored, ensuring that the technology is used in a targeted, careful, and professional manner.

Free consultation
Prior to the treatment, we offer a free, personal consultation with a skin analysis. During this consultation, we discuss your wishes, assess your skin condition, and determine if Pico Laser is the right treatment. Therefore, you do not have to choose between Pico Laser, IPL, or another treatment yourself. We first analyze the skin and then advise on the best approach.

During the treatment
Protective eye protection is used during the treatment. You may experience a brief warm, tingling, or snapping sensation when the laser pulse is delivered. Pigment-rich areas may feel slightly more sensitive than the surrounding skin.

After the treatment
Depending on the intensity, the skin may be temporarily red, warm, sensitive, or slightly swollen. Treated pigment spots may temporarily appear darker, and in some cases, slight crusting may occur. Scratching or picking is not recommended.

Results
Pico Laser helps to fragment pigment in a targeted manner, after which the body gradually processes it. The result develops step by step. Some pigmentation responds faster, while deeper or more complex pigmentation may require multiple treatments.

What can you expect from the treatment?

Frequently Asked Questions / FAQ
Pico Laser at For You Almere

Does a Pico Laser treatment hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as brief snapping, tingling, or warm. Areas with more pigment may feel slightly more sensitive.

Why do you perform an AI skin analysis first?
Pigmentation can vary in color, distribution, depth, and surrounding skin condition. Multi-spectral imaging helps us view the skin from multiple perspectives before creating a treatment plan.

Does the AI automatically decide which settings are used?
No. DermaScan AI provides additional image information, but the final treatment choice, wavelength, and settings are always determined by the practitioner based on skin, history, and treatment goals.

Can Pico Laser help with pigment spots?
Yes, Pico Laser can be considered for freckles, sun spots, age spots, uneven pigmentation, and selected post-inflammatory pigmentation, among others, depending on skin type and assessment.

Can Pico Laser be used for tattoo removal or PMU fading?
Yes. Pico Laser can be used for selected tattoo pigment. The number of treatments depends on factors including ink color, pigment density, depth, age of the tattoo, skin type, and individual skin reaction. Complete tattoo removal cannot be guaranteed.

Can pigment temporarily become darker after the treatment?
Yes. Some treated pigment spots may temporarily appear darker before gradually fading or lightly flaking. This can be part of the normal skin reaction.

How many treatments do I need?
There is no standard number of treatments. This depends on the type of pigment, depth and distribution, skin type, treatment area, skin reaction, intensity, and your goal. We prefer to assess progress periodically rather than promising a fixed number of sessions in advance.

Is Pico Laser the same as IPL?
No. Pico Laser is often more suitable when the target is specific pigmentation or tattoo pigment. IPL is more often considered for broader skin improvement, such as diffuse pigmentation, redness, uneven skin tone, and general skin rejuvenation.

Can Pico Laser be used for melasma?
Melasma is a complex and often recurring pigmentation condition. Pico Laser is not automatically suitable for every form of melasma. For complex pigmentation patterns, we proceed with caution and may recommend a different approach or a medical assessment.

What is important after the treatment?
Protect the skin well against UV, use SPF daily, hydrate the skin, avoid harsh exfoliation, and do not scratch or pick at treated pigmentation or any fine scabs.
